Dougherty Squadron / University of Kentucky” printed on the front and “The Warrior who Cultivates His Mind Polishes His Arms” printed on the back. It measures approximately 19 inches (from underarm seam to underarm seam) and is in great condition (Gildan brand, 50% cotton / 50% polyester).

The Arnold Air Society (AAS) is a professional, honorary, service organization advocating the support of aerospace power. AAS is open to officer candidates in Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) and at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), and is formally affiliated with the Air Force Association (AFA).

General Russell Elliott Dougherty was commander in chief of the Strategic Air Command and director of strategic target planning at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. He graduated from Western Kentucky University, the Law School of the University of Louisville and the National War College. After serving in the FBI, Dougherty entered active military service as an aviation cadet at the outbreak of World War II; previously, he had been a member of the 123rd Cavalry, Kentucky National Guard.
