« Kosov painted pottery is a traditional Hutsul craft, one of the varieties of Ukrainian ceramics that began to develop in the 15th century. The main feature of pottery is handmade. This is what makes each ceramic piece unique. Potters sharpened most of their products on a potters wheel and made mostly household utensils from local raw materials - dark gray clay, which turned red when fired. The products are distinguished by a unique and complex manufacturing technology - the only one in the world - and special patterns. On the clay, the craftsmen actually draw the history of the region. They use only three colors: green, yellow, brownish-red, and occasionally blue splashes. In 2019, Kosov painted ceramics was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. »
